Safety Tips

Electricity enables us to live life with ease-but it can take life away from us as well. According to the latest figures from the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in 2000 there were 400 accidental electrocutions. The commission also indicates that there are an average of 165,380 electrical-related home structure fires that claim an additional 910 lives each year.

Union Power Cooperative and North Carolina's Touchstone Energy cooperatives want to keep lowering the statistics by raising awareness of electric safety all year long.
